When I wanted to encourage healthy eating with my children, I realized that it wasn't as simple as saying "eat your spinach because it's good for you." I had to be interested and excited, so designed entertaining, delicious meals and carefully explained why healthy food is better than processed foods. We had a garden so they could plant, grow, weed and harvest the food – and they loved to eat food straight out of the yard. ⠀

It starts at 2am and the kids can help you in the kitchen. Your children can have fun, feel important, and learn with fun tasks like taking raw stuff from a cage or fridge and picking herbs from the garden. They can also help to assemble dishes, especially simple and colorful like salads. They can crack eggs, measure ingredients and as they age, peel or shred vegetables

After all, bottoming out will be the most important thing you can do to set a good example. Take the walk and count the talk; Your children will follow. ⠀
